A simple yet Powerful Practice

Looking inward watching our reactions to external experiences...
Can we notice how an experience-stimulus, like someone saying something that presses our buttons, instantly generates an automatic flow of thoughts, feelings and reactions?
This seems instant - but it isn't.
There is a moment - a moment - a tiny space - an unnoticed gap between what happens outside and our inner reaction to it.
And it is potentially an incredibly valuable moment.
If we can train ourselves to increase that gap we can save ourselves from habitual reactions and behaviour that can cause all kinds of trouble, pain and suffering.
The simple thing we must train ourselves to do is : STOP...
FOR A MOMENT...
STAY EMPTY...
...STAY EMPTY...
...STAY IN THE EMPTY SPACE.

Watch thoughts and feelings rise - and subside - and in their place - feel the Peace that takes their place.
